Though The Daddies tells the story of one break-up between lesbian lovers, the novel is more widely concerned with patriarchy, power, and pleasure and how those forces shape lives. Dark offers a fe(me)inist exploration of the masculine, while still leaving room for transformation, both cultural and interpersonal.
